TIES
Ties add colour and interest to an outfit, and every gentleman’s wardrobe should include an ensemble of plains, spots and stripes to choose from. Our hand-finished pure silk ties and matching pocket squares from Hilditch & Key are elegant and luxurious.
There are many different knots for neckties, however, knowing when to use which knot will elevate your look and the first impression you’ll make. With attention to your collar, body type, and the event, you can choose the perfect professional knot for your tie that will project confidence and sophistication.
A dimple gives your tie an intentional, finished look, showing that you pay attention to detail. It is achieved by making a crease in the centre of the tie and holding the crease in place while you tighten the knot. It takes some practice, but the effect is worth it.
The Double or Full Windsor is the most formal knot and so is appropriate with formal, wide-spread collars, whilst the Half Windsor is more appropriate for a work setting. For casual events, the small asymmetrical Four in Hand knot worn with a narrower-spread collar or casual shirt is acceptable.
